SELLERS

Welcome to the sales and retirement support page for sole practitioners.

If you are currently thinking of disposing of your practice please do request our article ‘So You Are Thinking of Selling’. If you have now reached the point of where you want to take matters forward, then do ask for our pack ‘So You Have Decided to Sell’ listed on the articles on this page. The Goldsmiths Group have been working with accountancy practices for over twenty years and have gained intimate knowledge of the disposal process. Coupled with the ability for Accountancy Age to promote this facility, we believe it will be the most cost effective route forward for a sole practitioner.

Many sole practitioners are now approaching retirement age and now is probably the time to consider the options. We have registered on our database just under 20,000 qualified sole practitioners nationwide. Many in this category are in the late 50’s or early 60’s. Many will be thinking about the value of their lifetimes work, and how to access it.

Should you not be financially in the position to dispose of the practice at this time, but wish to look at alternatives, do ask for our article entitled ‘The Annual Report for Sole Practitioners’ together with ‘Solutions to Problems’.

The Goldsmiths Group is there to support you through the process, assisting with valuing your practice and arranging appropriate and confidential introductions. We are here to advise and support not only yourself as a seller, but also buyers, in order to ensure the transaction is as smooth, fair to both parties and, above all, made in a secure environment. We are here to look after your interests and ensure, as far as possible, that you gain maximum financial advantage from your life times work.

Now you have decided to sell, please request the appropriate information pack – ‘So you have Decided to Sell’.

The Offering for Sellers

Stage 1

We will have an initial telephone conversation where we will establish exactly what your real needs and requirements are. At this point we will ask that you to sign our terms and conditions and pay a commitment fee of £100 + VAT. This will be deducted from the final bill.

Stage 2

We will advertise your practice on the buyer’s page of this site and email the opportunity to potential buyers in your area without disclosing who you are or giving information that will make you identifiable.

Stage 3

We will get back to you with a list of potential buyers and with your assistance we will look into which of them you feel comfortable to meet with. We will then make the formal introductions telling the potential buyer nothing more then your turnover, number of staff and name of your practice. Once you are happy to proceed with one of them we will move to the next stage. This stage can take as long as six months or even longer but provided that you end up finding ‘the one’ at the end it makes it all worth while.

Stage 4

We will advise you how to proceed, provide you with free heads of agreement and advise both parties of the best way forward to a win win deal and see that you complete the deal to the satisfaction of all parties. You may have a solicitor you wish to instruct. We do make available a DIY contract for the purchase. This is charged for separately from the purchase fees. We can also refer you to an experienced lawyer who would assist with completion of the deal. Finally we have letter templates for issue to the clients of the practice in order to offer comfort to encourage a smooth and loss free transfer.
